The internship, or stage, is a hands-on learning experience pivotal to the Master's degree program in Agrifood Innovation Management, designed to help you develop a research idea for your thesis work.
It is an important opportunity to acquire practical and critical skills, learn analysis techniques and tools, and apply the knowledge gained in terms of innovation, autonomous development and communication.
You can carry out the internship:
- at a company, a University facility, or another public or private institution in Italy or abroad
- if you are regularly enrolled in the program
- if you have already acquired at least 60 credits.
In some cases, work activities carried out before enrollment may also be recognized.
The procedures for carrying out the internship are defined in the Regulation for Internship Activities.
The internship period cannot overlap with the class schedule for courses included in the study plan: any exceptions must be approved by the Commissione Valutazione Carriere, with the opinion of the University tutor (Regolamento di tirocinio, art. 3, comma 2 e Delibera del Consiglio del C3A del 21 settembre 2021).

The external internship takes place at a company, a public entity other than the University of Trento, or a private organization in Italy.
- It can only be activated after a formal agreement between the University and the Host Organization.
- It involves both a University tutor and a Host Organization tutor, who will guide you during the internship.
- It is carried out based on a defined training plan, signed by you and the tutors (University tutor and Host Organization tutor), which must include the start and end dates of the internship. Any extensions must be agreed upon with the tutors and validated by the Job Guidance Office to ensure insurance coverage.
- The duration, period, access times to the workplace, and activity plan are determined by mutual agreement between the University and the company.
- It is unpaid and does not constitute an employment relationship.
To do an internship at companies or entities outside the University, you must:
- Independently select a University tutor from the professors affiliated with C3A or according to the guidelines set out in the Regulation for Internship Activities.
- Follow the instructions for activating the internship provided by the Job Guidance office at least 60 days in advance. This includes identifying the organization where you’ll complete the internship, submitting your application, and, once completed, sending the required documentation to the Job Guidance office.
- After the completion of the internship, you must send the documentation provided by Job Guidance to the C3A Student Support Office, including the details of the recognized credits and the signature of the University tutor, for the credit recognition in your academic record.
