Bachelor's degree

have a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, or in any Biotechnology-related field awarded by any internationally recognized university along with a corresponding study plan which proves acquired basic knowledge and competencies in:

• Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology
• Biochemistry
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Statistics
• Physics

as indicated in the Programme regulations.

Language proficiency

English language proficiency at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Submit the online application for Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology for your category by the deadline of your call.

Application fee: € 30,00.

Documentation required

Identity document: copy of a valid passport (for non EU citizens, with photo and personal data only) or identity card (for EU citizens).

Curriculum vitae et studiorum.

Copy of the Bachelor's degree certificate or the certificate of enrollment including the expected graduation date.

Copy of the transcript of academic records including examinations, results and credits.

A statement of purpose.

A video presentation, as described in the attached document.

A copy of the English language certificate, or

• a writing statement issued by your university stating that English is the official teaching language of your degree
• a self-declaration if you come from an English-speaking country
• a self-declaration that you have graduated in an English-speaking country.

An official translation of each document is required, when the original document is not produced in English or Italian.

Illegible documents will not be considered and incomplete or non-submitted application forms will be automatically excluded from the selection process.

After the deadline the Selection Committee will evaluate the completed applications.

Selection criteria

1. Academic curriculum, up to 50 points out of 100.
2. Coherence between your previous studies and academic objectives of the programme, up to 35 points out of 100.
3. statement of purpose, video presentation, further language competences, other certifications or academic experiences up to 150 points  out of 100.

You might be invited to interview (in person or via Conference call), only if the Selection Committee requires to collect further information on your academic skills and personal competencies.

You will be considered eligible with a score of at least 50 out of 100 points.

In case you are admitted, you will be notified by email from UniTrento Staff with the instructions needed to confirm the place in the Program, such as:

• how to complete the confirmation application
• how to pay the confirmation fee of € 100,00.

If, for any reason, you decide to decline your position, pelase communicate your decision to the Master Admission Office as soon as possible in order to give other eligible students the opportunity to study at the University of Trento.

Enrollment must be completed by the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff: if you do not meet the deadline, your admission will be rejected.

Enrollment is conditional upon the positive evaluation of the eligibility of the university degree.

Further details about the enrollment to the Master’s degree will be provided via email by the administrative office in due time. 

You must be in Trento for the the start of classes at the beginning of September.

Non-Europeans admitted students must be in Trento no later than 30 September 2025.
