Non-European citizens can be admitted to the Master's degree by public selection.
To check the exact definition of "Non-Europeans", you must read the Note 1 of the Call of admission.
Maximum number of Non-European students: 5
- Application: from 20 December 2024 to 6 March 2025 at 12:00 (CET)
- Rankings: by the end of April 2025
- Confirmation: the deadline will be communicated via email by UniTrento staff
- Online pre-enrollment at the Italian Embassy for non-EU applicants: by the deadline stated by the Italian government and communicated by UniTrento staff.
- Bachelor’s Degree Diploma: by 30 June 2025
- Enrollment: during the Summer and no later than 30 September 2025.
- Arrival in Trento: at the beginning of September and no later than 30 September 2025.
The only binding version is the Italian one
Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years in Mathematics or in any Mathematics-related field, awarded by any internationally recognized university, along with a corresponding study plan as indicated in the Educational offer.
English language proficiency at B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Submit the online application for Master in Physics for Non-EU citizens by the deadline.
Application fee: € 30,00.
Documentation required
- A copy of a valid passport with photo and personal data only.
- Curriculum vitae et studiorum.
- A copy of the Bachelor's degree certificate or the certificate of enrollment including the expected graduation date. If the original document is not produced in English or Italian, you must provide an official translation of the degree certificate.
- A copy of the transcript of academic records including examinations, results and credits. If the original document is not produced in English or Italian, you must provide an official translation.
- A copy of the English language certificate, or
- a writing statement issued by your university stating that English is the official teaching language of your degree
- a self-declaration if you come from an English-speaking country
- a self-declaration that you have graduated in an English-speaking country.
- A statement of purpose in English of maximum one page length.
Illegible documents will not be considered and incomplete or non-submitted application forms will be automatically excluded from the selection process.
After the deadline the Selection Committee will evaluate the completed applications and shortlist the eligible applicants who will then have access to the admission written test.
Selection criteria
- Academic curriculum, up to 20 points out of 60.
- Coherence between your previous studies and the learning objectives of the programme, up to 25 points out of 60.
- Statement of purpose, up to 10 points out of 60.
- Higher English language level, up to 5 points out of 60.
You will be admitted to the admission test if your score is at least 40 points out of 60.

You will be considered eligible after the written test with a final score of at least 50 out of 100 points.
In a tie-breaker situation the Selection Committee will give priority to younger applicants.

The Ranking list with admitted candidates and scholarship assignation will be published on this page.
In case you are admitted, you will be notified by email from UniTrento Staff with the instructions needed to confirm the place in the Program, such as:
- how to complete the confirmation application
- how to pay the confirmation fee of € 100,00.
If, for any reason, you decide to decline your position, pelase communicate your decision to the Master Admission Office Science and Technology area as soon as possible in order to give other eligible students the opportunity to study at the University of Trento.
If you are a Non-European citizen living outside Italy and you have been admitted to a University Programme in Italy you must:
- pre-enrol at the Italian diplomatic office in your country;
- apply for a university study or enrolment Visa at the Italian consular-diplomatic Representative.
Since this procedure may take time, we encourage you to speed up procedures by contacting the Italian Representative as soon as possible.
You will be guided through this procedure and notified with the detailed instructions by the University of Trento as well.
Enrollment must be completed by the deadline stated in the call for admission: if you do not meet the deadline, your admission will be rejected.
Enrollment is conditional upon the positive evaluation of the eligibility of the university degree.
Further details about the enrollment to the Master’s degree will be provided via email by the Master Admission Office in due time.
You must be in Trento for the start of lessons, at the beginning of September .
