The Master’s degree is open to two categories of applicants:

  • Europeans and Equivalents
  • Non-Europeans.

To check the category you belong to, you must read the Note 1 of the Call of admission.

First call

Open only to all the categories of applicants

  • Application: from 18 December 2024 to 6 March 2025 at 12:00 (CET)
  • Rankings: by 30 April 2025
  • Confirmation: within the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff
  • Online pre-enrollment at the Italian Embassy for non-EU applicants: by the deadline stated by the Italian government and communicated by UniTrento staff.

Second call

Open only to Europeans and Equivalent applicants.

  • Application: from 1st April to 30 May 2025 at 12:00 (CET)
  • Rankings: by 30 June 2025
  • Confirmation: within the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff

Deadlines after admission

  • Bachelor’s Degree Diploma:
    • by 30 June 2025 for non-Europeans;
    • by 31 October 2025 for Europeans and Equivalents;
  • Enrollment: within the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff
  • Arrival in Trento: For the start of classes in  September. For Non-European students no later than 30 September 2025.

Background

A Bachelor's or higher degree from an internationally recognized institution at university level including a minimum number of ECTS in the following academic disciplines (i.e. "Sectors", SSD):

  • at least 6 ECTS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, SSD: INF*/, ING-INF/*.
  • at least 6 ECTS in Social Sciences, Economics, Psychology, Law, SSD: SPS*, SECS-P*, M-PSI*, IUS*.
  • at least 6 ECTS in Mathematics, Statistics, SSD: MAT*, SECS-S*.
  • at least further 24 ECTS in the above disciplines or Sectors.

Applicants who did not achieve the overmentioned credits by the application deadline, can apply providing that they'll obtain the missing credits by August 5, 2025.

Credits can be acquired through:

Language proficiency

English language proficiency at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

  • English Language qualification awarded from an internationally-recognized entity. See the list of Accepted certificates as entry requirements for degree programmes.
  • English Language qualification awarded from a certificatory entity or a university institute;
  • certificate attesting that the Bachelor's or Master's degree was achieved, proving the degree had been officially taught in English;
  • attesting to be a citizen of an English-speaking country;
  • attesting to have passed an English Language test, at least B2 level, during the Bachelor's degree

Applicants who can't attests the requested knowledge of English language by the application deadline, can apply providing that they'll obtain the level by 31 October 2025.

The level can be attested through:

  • exams
  • certificates
  • one of the tests organized by UniTrento Language Centre

Submit the online application within the given deadline

Application fee: € 30,00.

Documentation required

  • Copy of a valid passport or identity card with photo and personal data only.

  • Copy of Bachelor's Degree certificate or registration certificate attesting the expected graduation date. Students enrolled in Italian universities will upload a self-declaration

  • Transcript of records including a list of all courses, exams, academic disciplines (SSD), marks obtained, the weighted average mark and the minimum to maximum range of marks. Students enrolled in Italian universities will upload a self-declaration based on the templated attached. 

  • Curriculum vitae et studiorum following the European template Europass

  • English Language proficiency qualification.

  • Statement of purpose, a brief personal statement in English in which the candidate supports her or his application.

  • Syllabi of courses belonging to academic disciplines INF/01 and/or ING-INF/05 (not required for students graduated in Computer Science).

An official translation of each document is required, when the original document is not produced in English or Italian.

Illegible documents will not be considered and incomplete or non-submitted application forms will be automatically excluded from the selection process.

How to write your statement of purpose

You  must write your own original statement of purpose in English of minimum 2.000 and maximum 4.000 characters spaces included.

The aim of the State of purpose is to support your application describing your interests and expectations in relation to the programme’s learning objectives, such as:

  • your motivations and goals for applying to this program;
  • your knowledges (for example: computer, methodological or analytical skills);
  • how you will might be enhanced by this master's degree;
  • how you're planning to organize your studies and which skills are you expecting to acquire
  • which type of career  would you like to pursue after the graduation and how do you think you'll be able to benefit from the expertise gained with this master's degree.

Statements including copy-pasting or plagiarism of someone else's work will receive a negative evaluation.

The admission Committee will evaluate the entry requirements of each candidate taccording to the programme regulations.

Selection criteria are described in the Call for admission, article 4.

Rankings

The Ranking list with admitted candidates and scholarship assignation will be published on this page by the deadlines indicated in the Call for application paragraph.

In case you are admitted, you will be notified by email from UniTrento Staff with the instructions needed to confirm the place in the Program, such as:

  • how to complete the confirmation application
  • how to pay the confirmation fee of € 100,00.

If, for any reason, you decide to decline your position, pelase communicate your decision to the Master Admission Office as soon as possible in order to give other eligible students the opportunity to study at the University of Trento.

If you are a Non-European citizen living outside Italy and you have been admitted to a University Programme in Italy you must:

  • pre-enrol at the Italian diplomatic office in your country;
  • apply for a university study or enrolment Visa at the Italian consular-diplomatic Representative. 

Since this procedure may take time, we encourage you to speed up procedures by contacting the Italian Representative as soon as possible.

You will be guided through this procedure and notified with the detailed instructions by the University of Trento as well.

Enrollment must be completed by the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff: if you do not meet the deadline, your admission will be rejected.

Enrollment is conditional upon the positive evaluation of the eligibility of the university degree.

Further details about the enrollment to the Master’s degree will be provided via email by the administrative office in due time.

You must be in Trento for the the start of classes in September.

Non-Europeans admitted students must be in Trento no later than 30 September 2025.
