Over the course of two years, IMSISS students will undertake teaching each semester in a different institution amongst our consortium partners before undertaking their independent study period to complete their masters’ dissertation.
The the Pathaway held at UniTrento on the causes of conflicts, takes place in the second semester of rhte first year.

In Italian only
The calendar of the second semester in Trento follows the academic calendar of the School of International Studies.
Class schedules are available on the Class schedule, exams calendar and rooms.
Courses syllabus, such as information course objectives and learning outcomes, entrance requirements, content, teaching and learning methods and activities, tests and assessment criteria, as well as bibliography are published on the Course catalogue.
Teacher's content and materials are available in the Moodle Online Teaching courses.
Study plan submission
In order to take the exams, the teaching and learning activities must be included in your Student Record on Esse3 System.
To enter teaching and learning activities (courses) in your Student Record, you have to fill in your Study Plan in Esse3 - Study plan -Career plan from 1st to 31st March.
If you want to choose an elective course other than those listed in Esse3, you have to send an email to imsiss.sis@unitn.it with Subject "Free elective course".
The Track Coordinator will check if your choice can be approved or not.
Exam registration
At the end of each course, in order to take the exam you have to register for the final examinations:
- for final exams and intermediate assessments: on Esse3 - Menu - Exams.
- for foreign language tests dates and registration procedure are described at the page Language tests.
All non-Italian students must get a basic knowledge of Italian language in order to graduate.
For students enrolled in the academic year 2024/25, the knowledge of the Italian language can be certified by passing the Italian Language and Culture examination offered by SIS.
Students enrolled in the previous years have to take an A2 language exam. Alternatively, several international certificates are recognised by Trento University.
The graduation will be managed by the University of Glasgow.
In order to get also the UniTrento degree students will have to enrol to the first available graduation session at SIS after their thesis defense.
