The programme is free access to students with Italian or European citizenship and equivalents:  in order to be admitted, admission requirements must be verified according to the procedures and deadlines that will be published on this page by the end of April 2026.

The following requirements must be met for admission to the course.

Qualification and curricular requirements

A bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification of at least three years' duration, also obtained abroad if recognised as suitable.

The following degrees are considered eligible, according to the italian higher education system:

  • Aa Bachelor's Degree from class L-9 (ex DM 270/04) obtained at University of Trento.

  • A Bachelor's Degree from class L-9 (ex DM 270/04) obtained at another Italian university, with a at least 18 ECTS (univerity credits) in specific groups of scientific disciplinary fields (SSD): IMIS-01/A (or ING-IND/12), IIND-02/A (or ING-IND/13), IIND-03/A (or ING-IND/14), IINF-01/A (or ING-INF/01), IINF-04/A (or ING-INF/04), MATH-04/A (or MAT/07).
  • A Bachelor's Degree from a different class of degree, with at least 54 ECTS distributed among scientific disciplinary fields (SSD) as follows:
    • at least 24 ECTS in SSDs: MATH-02/A (or MAT/02), MATH-02/B (or MAT/03), MATH-03/A (or MAT/05), MATH-03/B (or MAT/06), MATH-05/A (or MAT/08), STAT-04/A (ora SECS-S/06);
    • at least 15 ECTS in SSDs: PHYS-01/A (or FIS/01), PHYS-02/A (or FIS/02), PHYS-03/A (or FIS/03), CHEM-03/A (or CHIM/03), CHEM-05/A (or CHIM/06), CHEM-06/A (or CHIM/07)
    • at least 15 ECTS in SSDs:  IMIS-01/A (or ING-IND/12), IIND-02/A (or ING-IND/13), IIND-03/A (or ING-IND/14), IINF-01/A (or ING-INF/01), INFO-01/A (or INF/01), IINF-04/A (or ING-INF/04), IMIS-01/B (or ING-INF/07), MATH-04/A (or MAT/07).
  • A degree awarded abroad that is recognized as eligible. In these cases, the verification of curricular requirements is carried out by a Committee appointed by the Departmental Council on the basis of equivalences between the contents of exams taken in previous courses of study and those corresponding to the disciplinary fields indicated in the previous bullet point.

Personal background

For candidates with a degree obtained abroad and recognized as eligible, the verification of the adequacy of personal background may also include a test before a committee appointed by the Departmental Council.

Language skills

Knowledge of English at least at level B2 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is required. You can prove it in one of the following ways

  • by having passed a university exam in English B2 as part of your degree programme;
  • by providing a language certificate recognised by UniTrento.

If you don’t have any of these certifications, you can take and pass an English test at the University Language Centre before enrolment.

If you are missing certain curricular requirements, you can enroll in Single Courses for Master's Degrees and take the corresponding exams by the registration deadline.
