The Master’s degree is open to two categories of applicants:

  • Europeans and Equivalents
  • Non-Europeans.

To check the category you belong to, you must read the Note 1 of the Call of admission.

First call

Open to all categories.

  • Application: from 18 December 2024 to 6 March 2025 at 12:00 (CET)
  • Rankings: by 15 April 2025
  • Confirmation: within 7 days after the admission notification
  • Online pre-enrollment at the Italian Embassy for non-EU applicants: by the deadline stated by the Italian government and communicated by UniTrento staff.

Second call

Open only to Europeans and Equivalents applicants.

  • Application: from 15 April 2025 to 30 May 2025 at 12:00 (CET)
  • Rankings: by 15 July 2025
  • Confirmation: within 7 days after the admission notification

Deadlines after admission

  • Bachelor’s Degree Diploma:
    • 30 June 2025 for Non-European applicants
    • 30 September 2025 for European and equivalent applicants.
  • Enrollment: during the Summer and no later than 30 September 2025.
  • Arrival in Trento: for the Welcome Day at the beginning of September. For Non-European students no later than 30 September 2025.

Admission requirements

Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3 years or other qualification recognized as equivalent to be obtained by the deadlines stated in the Call.

English language proficiency at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Minimum number of credits in the following areas:

  • at least 16 credits in the sectors related to Economics: SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/04, SECS-P/05, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/12;
  • at least  6 credits in the sectors related to Business and Administration: SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/09, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/11;
  • at least 8 credits in the sectors related to Statistics, mathematics and quantitative methods: MAT/05, MAT/06, MAT/09, SECS-S/01, SECS-S/03, SECS-S/04, SECS-S/06.

In case of international qualifications, the Selection Committee will evaluate if the applicant's study plan meets the entry requirements.

Submit the online application for BEA - Master in Behavioural and Applied Economics by the deadline.

Application fee: € 30,00.

Documentation required

Identity document: a valid passport (for non EU citizens) or identity card (for EU citizens).

Bachelor’s degree: copy of your Bachelor’s degree certificate, if awarded, in English or Italian. Otherwise you must upload an official translation.

Transcript of records: must include examinations, results and credits. If the original document is not in Italian or English, you must upload an official translation. 

English language proficiency at B2 level can be certified as follows:

  • International Certificate (ex. IELTS min. 6, TOEFL, Cambridge FCE, CAE; CPE, etc..);
  • Having passed the B2 (or higher) English language exam within another University Programme;
  • Previous University Qualification entirely in English;
  • GMAT score 580 or higher;
  • English native speaker.

Curriculum vitae: a brief but complete CV in English, in PDF format. No specific layout required.

Statement of purpose. You will be asked to answer the following questions:

  • Why do you want to study Behavioural and Applied Economics?
  • What do you want to achieve professionally by studying within the Master of Behavioural and
  • Applied Economics?
  • How do you think you could contribute to the class?

Reference letters and referee’s contacts: upload in the application at least two reference letters in English or Italian on letterhead. The contact of each referee must be added in the application as well.The reference letter should support your application to the Program, you can choose the referees you prefer.

Optional attachments: 

  • GMAT or GRE: minimum GMAT score accepted: 500.
  • Other relevant Experiences or Specialization.

After the deadline the Selection Committee will evaluate the completed applications according to the following criteria:

  • Academic and professional background from 0 to 40 points
  • International Certificates from 0 to 10 points
  • Evaluation of the application (statement, CV, reference letters, general evaluation) from 0 to 50 points.

In case you are admitted, you will be notified by email from UniTrento Staff with the instructions needed to confirm the place in the Program, such as:

  • how to complete the confirmation application
  • how to pay the confirmation fee of € 100,00.

If you are a Non-European citizen living outside Italy and you have been admitted to a University Programme in Italy you must:

  • pre-enrol at the Italian diplomatic office in your country;
  • apply for a university study or enrolment Visa at the Italian consular-diplomatic Representative. 

Since this procedure may take time, we encourage you to speed up procedures by contacting the Italian Representative as soon as possible.

You will be guided through this procedure and notified with the detailed instructions by the University of Trento as well.

Enrollment must be completed by the deadline stated in the call for admission: if you do not meet the deadline, your admission will be rejected.

Enrollment is conditional upon the positive evaluation of the eligibility of the university degree.

Further details about the enrollment to the Master’s degree will be provided via email by the administrative office in due time.

You must be in Trento for the Welcome day and the compulsory crash courses at the beginning of September.

Further information about the dates will be available in July.

Non-Europeans admitted students must be in Trento no later than 30 September 2025.
