The Master in Behavioural and Applied Economics (BEA) is a unique scientific project developed by the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Trento that provides graduates with innovative learnings where economic theory and empirical and quantitative analysis are deeply intertwined.
The purpose is to promote an applied approach to economic research that, based on solid theory, builds empirical tests using observational and/or experimental data, to develop an efficient analysis of the economic phenomena and data to assess effective strategic policies.
In this MA, you will develop advanced competencies in Behavioural and Applied Economics: combining Behavioural and Applied Economics in one single path is a unique opportunity to:
- acquire empirical analysis tools integrated with skills in using large data sets to perform in-depth studies in a wide area of economics, from industrial organization to labour economics, public policy evaluation programs, data analytics and big data.
- Improve the predictive power of economic models by incorporating insights from psychology. Predictable deviations from rationality benchmarks (biases) are organized into theories that provide a better account of human behaviour.
