Computer Science teaches you how to process, store and transmit information, and how to model and solve complex information management problems.
Computer science is a discipline that straddles science and engineering:
- From the world of science it inherits curiosity, e.g. to understand how to solve problems automatically, also from a philosophical point of view.
- From engineering, it inherits methodological rigour in solving problems.
In the first two years you will develop basic mathematical knowledge and computer skills in programming and algorithms, systems and information management. From the second year, you can choose more specific subjects according to your interests.
Computer science is now considered one of the 'three legs' of modern science, along with theory and experimentation. It is present in every aspect of human life and generates much of the wealth of Western economies. The course provides you with the theoretical knowledge and skills to use the latest technologies to design and develop software as an industry-wide activity.
Recognised as one of the best in Italy and for the quality of its content, it has been awarded the seal of approval by Gruppo di Informatica, the Association of University Computer Science Professors, and AICA (Italian Association for Computer Science and Automatic Computing).
You can take the course in Italian or English.
