The Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Trento allows you to put your interests at the centre of your studies, choosing from four curricula that explore different areas of mathematics, from theoretical foundations to practical applications.

Advanced Mathematics: this introduces you to mathematical research and prepares you for a doctorate in mathematics, in particular at the University of Trento. The curriculum is divided into three strands, which offer the possibility of doing a Master's thesis in the corresponding field: Algebra and Geometry, Calculus and Partial Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems.

Cryptography: introduces you to modern methods of computational algebra and applications to coding theory and cryptography. You can choose between two orientations: stage-oriented or research-oriented.

Mathematics and Statistics for Life and Social Sciences: comprises four tracks: Mathematics for Data Science - Modelling, Statistics and Analysis of Biosystems - Modelling and Simulation for Biomedical Applications - Modelling, Statistics and Analysis in Mathematical Finance.

Teaching and Scientific Communication: prepares you both for teaching in schools and for scientific communication. The Department has a Laboratory for Teaching and Communicating Mathematics, which coordinates the orientation of secondary school students, collaborates in the initial and in-service training of teachers, and organises exhibitions and other outreach initiatives.
